(New Orleans, LA – Thursday, September 29, 2011)—The Algiers Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) will feature Nicolas Perkin, Co-founder and President of The Receivables Exchange as keynote speaker for AEDF’s Quarterly Business Luncheon. The event will take place Wednesday, October 5, 2011, English Turn Golf & Country Club, 1 Clubhouse Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana 70131 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A networking mixer will precede the event at 11:15 a.m. The luncheon will start at noon.
Based in New Orleans, The Receivables Exchange is the world’s first online marketplace that gives business owners access to capital through the trading of accounts receivable. The Receivables Exchange recently announced a partnership with NYSE Euronext to expand operations into the corporate sphere.
Perkin, whose experience spans business start-ups and growth as well as mergers and acquisitions, will discuss why The Receivables Exchange chose to invest in New Orleans in 2007 and how the company has grown subsequently.
Perkin said New Orleans’ business receptivity, “friendly cost structure” and cultural offerings are among a few reasons why the company chose to operate out of New Orleans. “Beyond a business friendly legal structure and supportive city and state administrations, New Orleans possesses a solid operational infrastructure as well as a ready, dedicated, honest, hardworking, entrepreneurial and technologically gifted workforce,” he said.
Perkin adds: “New Orleans has always been a center of commerce and The Receivables Exchange, through its business, equally embodies those attributes. It is not an exaggeration to say that our people are logically and passionately proud to call New Orleans home.”
AEDF President Christopher Kane said, “The Receivables Exchange provides resources to businesses that are critical to their growth and longevity. We are fortunate to have leaders like Nicolas at the forefront of business innovation in New Orleans and throughout our state. ”
